Capital Campaign

Phase II

On June 8, 2009, the Raritan Township Planning Board voted unanimously, 7-0,  to grant preliminary and final site plan approval for construction of a 24,528 square-foot church on 85 Voorhees Corner Road (next to the J.P.Case Middle School) in Raritan Township, New Jersey.

Given that our community has the need for multi-functional spaces in which to conduct religious, educational, social and recreational activities, the site plan for the church complex is developed in two phases:

Phase One - begins with construction of a church/worship space for 225 seats, administrative offices, classes for Religious Education and Greek Language studies, and a community hall.

Phase Two - continues with the construction of larger, 400-seat church with a dome indicative of Byzantine architecture. The smaller Phase 1 space of worship converts to a separate chapel or additional educational spaces.

Capital Campaign

The community began a Capital Campaign in 2008 to raise funds to purchase land and start construction. Since the start of the campaign, the community collected enough funds to purchase the 12 acres outright without mortgage. To date, the Saint Anna Greek Orthodox Building Fund has $900,000 and an additional $1.5 million construction loan from Two River Bank. The estimated cost for Phase One is $3.4 million. Preliminary Construction is scheduled to begin June 2011, and a Groundbreaking Ceremony is scheduled for September 17, 2011.

Saint Anna, although one of the newest and youngest communities established under the spiritual jurisdiction of His Emminence, Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey, is very grateful for the manifold blessings that that it has received over the past few years.

On May 16, 2010, His Eminence, Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey blessed and dedicated the land and future home of St Anna Greek Orthodox Church, at 85 Voorhees Corner Road, Flemington, NJ, amongst its parishioners, friends, and benefactors. Many attended the celebration, which included a tree planting and the unveiling of a roadside sign that read "Future Home of Saint Anna Greek Orthodox Church."

St Anna Greek Orthodox Church welcomes anyone who is interested in contributing to the realization of this community's dream of establishing a Greek Orthodox Church in Hunterdon County.
